The Japanese Grand Prix, held at the Suzuka International Racetrack, is the penultimate round of the 2004 Formula 1 season.
Being near the end of the season, Suzuka has had numerous close battles for the championship. This year, even though the championship is over, the Japanese Grand Prix promises to be a great race. A favourite of most of the drivers, they will be able to fight hard for the win without the added pressure or responsibility of securing points for the championship.
Torrential rain hit Suzuka, soaking the race track. Most teams only sent their drivers out to do installation laps and full wet weather tyres were conpulsory.
There is also a 70% chance that a typhoon, called Typhoon No. 22, will hit tomorrow during Qualifying. Because of this there is talk that Friday times could count towards Qualifying, not that it is known how this might work.
